I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil, and started painting shortly after that, my study of art continues still.
I paint mainly in watercolours and oils, mostly on site using a fairly restrained, subtle palette, where the essence of a subject can be seen and experienced, and painted successfully (hopefully).  Sometimes I work in the studio when the subject requires more consideration or the weather's not suitable.

I'm inspired by many past masters, movements and contemporary artists: the Impressionists, JMW Turner, Jack Merriott, Robert Wade, and more recently David Curtis, and Trevor Chamberlain, to name a few.
