Dick Onians

Sculptor
(Kings Langley)

DICK ONIANS M.A. (Cantab), ARBS
Born 19 May, 1940 Buckinghamshire, UK

My work is mainly abstract in wood but I also carve in stone and do representational and traditional work and lettering on commission. My sculptures appear in private collections in Great Britain, Europe, Canada and the USA. Some wood sculptures of mine have been cast in bronze.

Many of the forms combine organic with mathematical elements, mostly concerned with endlessness and continuous renewal.

As well as being the Senior Carving Tutor at the City and Guilds of London Art School, my current activities are sculpting private commissions and teaching carving privately and at Missenden Abbey.
